Job Description
Welder Duties and Responsibilities
The welder will regularly perform a variety of tasks depending on the job order.
Basic Responsibilities include:
The welder will regularly perform a variety of tasks depending on the job order.
Basic Responsibilities include:
- Operate MIG or TIG welding.
- Weld cut parts together in a timely manner.
- Make simple repairs, if required, by using a handheld air or electric grinder.
- Check quality of welded part.
- Accurately report production and scrap quantities.
- Responsible for machine condition and performance.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Must be able to Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Must observe all safety procedures at all times
- $18-$20 per hour
- 6am-2: 30pm
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
- De-burs and grinds metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
- Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
- Complies with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
- Understands and meets all departmental safety objectives and goals.
- Maintains proper housekeeping in and around machine/work area
- Abides by all company policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook, policy manuals, work instructions, bulletins and dated memos.
- Other duties as assigned.
