Job Description

Responsible for the receipt and inspection of incoming material for use in printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies in a high mix, quick- turn environment. Audit of supplied material for accuracy against the Bill of Materials (BOM). Identify, document, and report on non-conforming material. Identification of critical component features such as part number, part value, package type, size, RoHS compliance, and special processing requirements. Good organization, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to speak & read English. Some customer interface may be required. Knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20. Knowledge of IPC-A-600 a preferred.

Required Skills and Duties

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Familiar with the ESD handling procedures of sensitive electronic devices per ANSI/ESD 20.20

• Interpret part values by means of color code or numerical values

• Identify manufacturer’s part number markings on various components

• Identify critical component features:

  • Package type

  • Package size

  • ROHS of non-ROHS compliance and compatibility

• Ability to identify components requiring special processing such as moisture sensitivity requiring bake out

• Identify, document, and report non-conforming material

• Demonstrate knowledge of IPC-A-600 for acceptance of Printed Circuit Boards

• Read and understand customer supplied Bill of Materials (BOMs)

• Verify part number/description of parts against the BOM.

• Verify quantity of parts to make sure it is enough for the build

• Notify any part or quantity discrepancies

• Pulling parts for customer builds against on pick list

• Moving in-coming materials to stockroom and moving kits from stockroom to floor

• Baking PCB and moisture sensitive components

• Re-stock inventory items back to inventory

• Organize the stockroom

• Operate the weigh scale, vacuum sealer and baking oven
