Overview

The Senior Accountant supports month-end and year-end close, maintains accurate financial records across multiple retail and wholesale/distribution entities, and ensures compliance with GAAP. This role is hands-on with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cross-functional support.

Key Responsibilities

Support getting books caught up and maintain accurate general ledger records

Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close across multiple entities

Account for and reconcile intercompany transactions between retail and wholesale/distribution entities

Perform bank and all balance sheet reconciliations

Assist with GAAP-compliant financial statement preparation

Oversee payment distribution for wholesale/distribution entities

Review and verify retail invoices to ensure accurate payments and sales recording by store

Ensure proper coding of invoices and expenses

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

Prepare schedules for management and external auditors

Support internal controls, audits, tax filings, licensing, and regulatory reporting

Partner with operations, sales, and accounting teams on accounting matters

Assist with ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3–4 years of accounting experience (public, private, or combination)

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting

Advanced Excel skills (formulas, formatting, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)

ERP experience (Odoo, QuickBooks, or similar)

Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting

Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills

High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred

Experience in wholesale, distribution, and retail environments
