Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinate the full cycle purchasing and sourcing process to include supplier selection, negotiation and contract execution for the operations. You will use your expertise to drive excellence in all areas of the purchasing process. Prepare quotations for company's products, non-standard items, and services. The salary will depend on your experience, but it ranges from $26.00-$36.00, Monday through Friday.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Analyze a plethora of financial and procurement data to craft negotiation strategies and approve purchasing contracts with optimal terms.

2. Apply knowledge of sourcing strategies in the aerospace / automotive / manufacturing environments. International purchasing experience beneficial.

3. Assist Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing internal and external instructions, policies, and procedures to optimize workflow and cost efficiencies.

4. Manage and maintain accurate MRP inputs including supplier, lead times, and pricing.

5. Write specifications, prepare bids, handle bidding process, analyze market availability and suggest award.

6. Drive supplier performance, establish key performance metrics and communicate when serious variations arise in delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.

7. Purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining the lowest possible inventory levels.

8. Adapt to changing market conditions to ensure supply chain availability and quality conformance of all purchases.

9. Drive tasks to completion with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

10. Work cross-functionally with many groups including Operations, IT, Finance, Research & Development and Marketing to help manage and support supply chain activities and product costings.

11. Self-starter with excellent teamwork skills.

12. Exceptional organizational techniques.

13. Prepares and submits foreign and domestic quotations with information provided by customers, distributors or sales representatives.

14. Interfaces with sales representatives, purchasing, vendors, distributors, customer service, upper management and customers as it pertains to gathering information in order to prepare quotations.

15. Keeps clear and accurate records of quotations for future reference.

16. Follows up with the initiator in a reasonable time frame if no action is generated following the quotation.

17. Verifies profit margins, validity dates, etc. on specially priced items. Position Available ADVANCED MATERIALS GROUP USA ? Luxembourg ? England ? China

18. Provides timely and accurate information for purposes of quoting all items.

19. Verifies and analyzes quotations based on prior quotations, current market price for the items involved, and customer purchasing history when deriving quotations.

20. Reviews and redlines customer contracts, T&Cs, and Non-Disclosure Agreements

21. Coordinates with Quotations Manager to conduct performance reviews of each departmental employee and recommends performance increases, retraining, transfer or termination.

22 Notify supervisor or manager of any potential safety hazards

23. Perform other tasks and duties as required by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years’ experience Quoting and Purchasing

• Strong negotiation skills

•Advanced Excel user; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience reviewing and negotiating customer or vendor contracts and T&Cs.

PREFERENCES:

• BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Management; OR more than 5 years’ work experience in an aerospace/automotive or similar manufacturing role

• APICS ASCM Certification

• Microsoft/Dynamics, Navision experience
