Role Overview:

As a Purchasing Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely procurement and receipt of goods and services. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently will be essential. If you’re passionate about maintaining accurate records, collaborating with vendors, and optimizing supply chain processes, we want to hear from you!


  • Collaborate with the purchasing manager to run the purchasing department efficiently.

  • Conduct vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs, and boost efficiency.

  • Maintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities.

  • Prepare and review purchase orders using our internal system (E2) or bid requests.

  • Confirm purchase order details with vendors and obtain order confirmations.

  • Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders, investigating discrepancies when necessary.

  • Expedite orders to ensure delivery dates are met and alert team members of any delays.

  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.

  • Handle third-party drop shipments for invoicing.

  • Process and track returns to vendors.

  • Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts).

  • Follow up with suppliers to confirm or modify orders.

  • Collaborate with receiving staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.

  • Monitor shipments to ensure goods arrive as expected.



  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

  • Proficiency in using purchasing software (such as E2) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to cross-train in multiple buyer functions.

  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
