Job Title: Assembly / Sanding Technician I
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $17.50 – $22.50 per hour

Position Summary

The Assembly / Sanding Technician I is responsible for assembling, sanding, deburring, and finishing parts to meet company quality standards. This role also includes packaging completed products and supporting general production tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bond blocks and components

  • Deburr and sand parts to required specifications

  • Prepare parts in accordance with company standards

  • Mix and apply adhesives (glue)

  • Mask parts as needed for processing

  • Fill gaps and repair minor imperfections

  • Package finished parts for shipment

  • Build boxes and cut cardboard for packaging

  • Repair or rework damaged parts as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 1–2 years of related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills & Abilities

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions

  • Ability to write and communicate simple information clearly

Math Skills

  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

  • Ability to work with measurements, weights, and quantities

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to follow simple instructions and procedures

  • Ability to handle routine, standardized tasks with minimal variation

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts

  • Moderate noise level typical of a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands and arms

  • Ability to sit, reach, and communicate effectively

  • Close and distance vision required
