Machine Operator
Job Description
The Laser, CNC-Operator, is an essential member of the team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining laser machines. Also, the operating and maintenance of our ‘die-less’ CNC cutting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lasers:
-
Load and edit machine programs
-
Load material in sheet bays
-
Maintain cutting quality at acceptable feed rates
-
Perform first part and random part inspections according to protocol on work sheet

Assures that all products conform to prescribed quality standards

Separate / “pick” parts from skeletons that are cut on the laser and stack
-
Perform general laser main, including startup / shutdown, window cleaning, nozzle centering, cleaning dust bins, replacing cutting beds, and keeping lasers and work environment clean

Perform advanced maintenance, including window changing / focal depth, external optical path cleaning and realignment, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical repair

Perform maintenance on laser equipment as called out by manufacture. Make repairs to laser equipment as necessary

Layout laser program to optimize part for best material yield and machine time
CNC – Die Less Cutting:
-
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and materials

Programs mills and knife cutter by entering instructions, including zero and reference points
-
Set-up mills and knife cutter by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, and other attachments
-
Maintain safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
-
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
-
Maintain continuity by documenting and communicating actions
-
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs as necessary
$22-$24 per hour
