Manufacturing Engineer
Full-Time | Orange County| $100,000 to $130,000

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support engineering, R&D, and production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is highly hands-on and focuses on process improvement, automation, equipment design, and production support.
Key Responsibilities

Lead manufacturing engineering projects supporting R&D line trials and production

Design, build, and improve automation and semi-automation equipment with strong focus on operator safety

Support mechanical and electrical systems including PLCs, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and vision systems

Design and improve tooling, fixtures, work cells, and production layouts

Conduct machine qualification, testing, and documentation for production release
-
Drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and process optimization initiatives

Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues

Provide DFMA guidance for high-volume manufacturing, assembly, and packaging
-
Support production teams with equipment setup and troubleshooting on complex parts

Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Sales, and Production Control

Recommend and justify new equipment purchases

Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Assist with safety, environmental compliance, and preventive maintenance programs
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (manufacturing focus preferred)

Minimum 7 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience (required)

Strong experience designing manufacturing equipment (mechanical & electrical)

Solid working knowledge of PLCs, controls, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and vision systems

Experience with automation and semi-automation in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, DFMA, SPC, FMEA, and DOE
-
Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Strong technical documentation and report-writing skills

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in plastic or rubber manufacturing environments
-
Knowledge of extrusion or co-extrusion processes
-
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
-
Familiarity with KPIs, KPPs, and KPCs
-
Experience managing project timelines (Microsoft Project preferred)
-
Light travel may be required (5–10%)
