Examples of Essential Functions
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the class.
1. Read and interpret manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and prints.
2. Explain work methods and techniques to Final Assembler I positions.
3. Cut and strip cables using hand tools and cut and strip machines.
4. Prepare labels with a heat shrink labeling machine and shrink onto cables.
5. Prepare cables for connection to sensors by tinning wires with a soldering iron.
6. Prepare cable ends with the installation of a BNC connector using the pneumatic crimp machine.
7. Install pin tips and various other connectors with the use of a hand crimper.
8. Solder cables to sensor topseals and position cables in sensor for epoxy encapsulation.
Examples of Essential Functions (continued):
9. Prepare and install Plughead assemblies to sensors, for example TOP68 and PG13.5 Connector heads.
10. Mix 2 part epoxies using a scale in preparation for encapsulation.
11. Pot cables into the backseal of the sensor using epoxy dispensing equipment.
12. Post completed operations in the SAP Database.
13. Assist with packaging of products.
14. Assist with staging of products to Shipping Department.
Qualifications Guidelines
Background
Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience/Certification: Two years of production assembly experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of safe production assembly practices.
• Knowledge of soldering and wire preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques of mixing epoxies.
• Knowledge of final assembly procedures.
• Knowledge of trouble-shooting procedures.
• Knowledge of chemical and materials hazards, Safety Data Sheets, and proper handling and storage procedures.
• Set-up and operate small wiring and cable processing machines.
• Operate a digital scale.
• Use epoxy dispensing equipment.
• Read and understand prints, manufacturing procedures, and instructions.
• Complete daily work assignments within agreed upon time frame.
• Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
