Accountant – Logistics & Freight

Location: Compton, CA
Pay Rate: $26–$32.00 per hour
Experience: 2–3 years of accounting experience

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join a fast-paced logistics and freight organization in Compton, CA. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of accounting experience, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and previous experience working in the logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation industry. CargoWise experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

• Handle billing, invoicing, and payment-related activities.

• Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies.

• Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.

• Review and maintain accounting documentation and records.

• Work closely with operations and logistics teams regarding freight-related transactions.

• Utilize CargoWise for accounting, billing, and logistics-related processes.

• Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding invoices, payments, and account issues.

• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.

• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of accounting experience required.

• Logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, or related industry experience required.

• CargoWise experience required.

• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliations.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Compensation

$26.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
